SUBHUMAN is a female fronted modern hardrock/metal/experimental
was founded in mid 2000 in
Central Iowa by Mike and Joni Lawler.
After being in various bands throughout their
music careers
the couple decided to call upon Dave Johnson
to give their
new musical territory a little kick.
When Dave came on the scene it gave the two
a new direction.
Excitement was inevitable as the trio continued
to rehearse.
There was light at the end of the tunnel.
With the internet as a guide. The three quickly
found percussionist Mark Loomis.
Astonished by his hi-tech drums, personality
and ability to play Mark became
the drummer.
After playing together for a few months, Joni
was becoming unhappy having to play bass and
sing, thus the quest of finding a new bassist
began.
Once again through the power of the internet
the band found someone. With his energy,
enthusiasm, knowledge and bass lines, Paul Van
Weelden became the new bassist for the band.
Now SUBHUMAN was complete.
