New York, NY - Women In Rock, Inc. and The USA Songwriting Competition announce the arrival of their nationally acclaimed industry showcases! Now how the pick band of the month is by one the vote which has just been updated (NEW POLL). Two, I look at who shows the initiative towards their goal. hmmm, like signing me up to their newsletter so I and their fan base knows whats going on. Three, I look for which hits that came from which bands website(s).

Pal-Tone Records Signs Turning Blue and gears up for the RadioDick 3-Sided LP Series Volume One.
We are currently in search of a second vocalist to add to our lineup. Check out our MP3's and decide whether or not you fit this style. We are looking for someone who can lay out some melody and still crank out the aggression when needed. Your position would be mainly the primary vocal spot but would also include sharing the mic with our current vocalist/guitarist on the older tunes. We have new material in the works so time is a factor. Anyone interested please inquire using the email address attatched.

Ninetrigger have two brand new un-mastered tracks available for listening at mp3.com/ninetrigger. They should be releasing their cd "Divide The Sky" sometime around late December early January. Tom Baker in California (Taproot, Beastie Boys, Kid Rock, Sublime, Family Values, God Lives Under Water)will be doing the mastering.

Borders Books & Music in Brentwood is trying to start up a local rock section in their store. They want to feature bands played on 102.9 The Local Buzz, so they're asking me to pass the info. along.
Local Bands can send their CD either by mail or in person to:

for consideration to be stocked in the store. Borders will give them a whirl, decide how many they want and then pay the bands outright.
They'll give them 60% of what they'll sell the CD for. So, if the CD will cost $10 they'll pay the band $6 per CD. Also, the local music section will have a sign that says "As heard on 102.9 The Buzz" and there will also be a window banner advertising that fans can buy CDs from bands featured on The Local Buzz. Awesome, huh?

Legendary activist, historian, author and professor Howard Zinn has agreed to use a talk of his alongside some Resident Genius tracks for a full-length CD (a 7" will also be available with a different, brief talk by Zinn plus two resident genius tracks different from cd version). Scheduled Release: June 2003.
