Jen's Night @ The Warehouse
written by: Jennifer Lockwood
Arriving at the Warehouse (late, as usual), the first thing I did was find an old friend of mine from Florida. Clay was in the back playing pool and jamming to the sounds of Shun onstage. They had gone on at 9, and were finishing their set shortly after I got there.
A little while later, Sub-Method was set up and ready to go. Clay and I went up to the stage area to enjoy the show. The ‘house was packed! People were literally elbow to elbow, thrashing to the hardcore sounds of Sub-Method who were tearing it up onstage. The tempo was bouncing, the beat was hard, and the antics of Nathan Ells were definitely taking center stage. A far cry from Community Spoon, Sub-Method carried the crowd throughout their set, leaving everyone grateful for a moment to rest and a neck massage after the frenzy they created. Between the driving force of the music and the obvious devotion of the singer, Sub-Method put on one hell of an act to follow. But who should step up to the plate after the break? None other than Lowboy, who playing their last gig in Clarksville. The room was packed and the people were rearing to go, already warmed up from Shun and Sub-Method. I stayed to bounce to a couple of hard-hitting tunes from Lowboy before I noticed the time and had to go. However, it was hard to drag myself away from the pulse of the band inside.
Shun, Sub-Method, and Lowboy put on a great show that evening. The night was high-paced and the crowd was full of energy. Turnout was good to say Bon Voyage to Clarksville’s beloved Lowboy (good luck in CA!) and hello to some bands eager to fill their shoes.
