Teads began his musical career over eleven years ago when his parents mistakenly picked up a guitar and an amplifier instead of a bass for a Christmas present. He used the music as an escape from a rough childhood: "All my good friends at the time turned their back on me, and I really had nothing else to turn to but the music." He emerged from a childhood full of torment with a strong love for music and a disdain for his nickname T-Bone: "I hated it for like a fucking year. I couldn't stand it. And then finally nobody knew me as Dustin anymore; they knew me as T-Bone. So I went with it." Old Metallica, Dimebag Darryl, Steve Vai and Stevey Ray Vaughn were among his influences growing up. Band-wise his influences include Sevendust, Pantera, Fear Factory, Type O Negative, Drain STH, White Zombie, Spineshank…anything with a good metal groove to it. His weapons of metal destruction include Crate Amps, Ibanez and Gibson guitars, Digitech and Boss sound effects, Dean Markley or Ernie Ball strings, Dunlop picks…the list goes on. He has been pursuing a musical dream for most of his life and odds are he's not going to stop until it's his: "I know nothing else but music…I think God gave me a talent and I should use it. I'll take it as far as it'll take me."
