What's up peoples? Just chillin' on this end. Now, I realize it's been a long ass time since we've done a much-needed update to the ezine. And I know we shouldn't let it degrade to the point it's at now. But sometimes you're forced to take time away from your passion in order to take care of business in the real world. Believe it or not, not a single member of the staff of Polluteme.com has ever gotten paid for the long hours they've invested in it (and I do mean long...there's been many a night that Clayton and I have stayed up till five in the morning working on the site). And everyone knows the bills in the real world don't pay for themselves. So unfortunately there comes a time when you have to concentrate on staying afloat before you can attempt the backstroke…the past two months has been that time for us. Polluteme.com is back though, and it's going to get better than ever, even though my role in the overall scheme of things has changed dramatically.
That's right folks...I have resigned from my position as editor of Polluted Ezine, effective six months ago. To make a long story short, a few life-changing events have taken place in my world over the course of the past two months. One happened when I couldn't afford to take my cat (who just so happens to be one of the coolest felines in the world) to the vet when he started shitting blood. I had to bum money off my parents in order to take care of him...wake-up call number one, and after writing close to thirty articles in three months (from April to June in 2001). I'm burned out. Plain and simple. I am so proud to have been a major part of the development of Polluteme.com. To see what it has become in a very quick year and a half has been nothing short of astounding. What began as a joining of forces has since turned into the fastest growing underground music website on the web (still averaging 200,000+ hits a month). I just felt it was in my best interests to step down now and concentrate on other interests now that it has a strong enough foundation. Besides, I sucked as the editor. I mean, think about it. How many times in a year and a half did I actually manage to meet a deadline?
I am still going to be involved in local music, however. Everyone who knows me knows that I bleed live music. I am still going to write here and their, and I'll be putting on the Backwoods Metalfest with my friends. (oh yeah...did I forget to mention I started playing bass?). I'm in a band name is Flawd, get ready to be surprised.
That's about all I can think of for my last editorial. I would like to thank everyone I've had the privilege of working with on the coolest website going today...Erik, Clayton, Wendy, Nicki, Becca, Gumby, Chris and Chris. And to all the bands I had the pleasure of meeting and listening to (a few of whom I came to call friends), I'd like to say see you on the flip side. Adios peoples.
