After his previous band, Driven, disintegrated, Jason Scotti was determined to start a new band. He found Timmy Fagan, a vocalist also interested in forming a band. The two started rewriting old Driven songs almost immediately (early 2000). They came up with new lyrics for "Walking Blind," "Take Me Away," "My Pain," "Atrophy," and "Bleeding," and tuned the songs down a few steps. Set Me Afire was conceived. After many line up changes and other setbacks, the name By Fear I Fall replaced the old. Summer of 2001 saw the band releasing their first demo, entitled Sun Obscured. A rough recording of mostly old ideas, the demo only hints at the band's current direction. |
