Aggression, intensity, and release are a few of the ways to describe BLACKSUN. Hailing from Memphis TN, Blacksun is a five-piece heavy-groove band bringing with it an inventive style of loud, in-your- face music. Taking what life has brought to them, they use their music as an escape or a prescribed way to vent, as we all need. Blacksun tries to give their audience the same escape by involving them and allowing them to feel a part of something. We have all had bad days, bad experiences, and many other unpleasantries - Blacksun takes all that crap and shoves it right back down the throat of misery and despair screaming "GET THE F*#@ UP OFF OF ME! Blacksun is currently working with SESAC, a publishing rights organization and is exploiting every possible avenue in getting their music heard. They have been successful in getting radio play in their home town of Memphis on WMFS 92.9, which hosts a program that supports local music, Locals Only. Blacksun has had great success on this program and have been interviewed in the studio. Locals Only has also showcased other talented artists such as Primer 55, Broken, Dust for Life, FullDevil Jacket, and Saliva who have gone on to become signed acts. These bands originate from the Mid- South area - an area well known for its high caliber of musical talent. |
