Say What You Gotta Say

"Eclectic Redneck Rock" is the self-coined phrase that best sums up what this Huntsville[AL]-based quartet is all about. Basically put; a group of fun-loving, high-energy, full-on, balls-out, straightforward, no bullshit rockers from the South, but with a unique style, wisdom and savoir-faire that transcends most other bands of equal years. Our music is as diverse as the backgrounds we come from, thus everything that has gone into making up who we are as musicians also goes into the music we write and perform. We are a band that writes from the heart despite whatever "Flavor Of The Month" sound may be hip at the time. No matter what others may try and label us ... our creative boundaries know no limits within their labeling.

The band originally formed in August of 1994 and now consists of: David McCullough [lead vocals], Craig Smoot [guitars, vocals], Jason Miller [drums, vocals] and Gary Fullerton [bass, vocals]. We have garnered endorsements from highly esteemed musical instrument companies such as Rivera Amplification, EMG Pickups and Svetlana Tubes. We've headlined numerous shows and events in the North Alabama area, as well as opened for such National acts as: The Pat Travers Band, Brother Cane, The Eric Gales Band, Col. Bruce Hampton & the Fiji Mariners and the Joe Stark Band.

Here's what some pretty important folks in the Biz had to say after hearing our debut album [pay no mind to the "southern rock" label, 'cause we don't]: "Kick Ass Southern Rock. Good grindin' fun!", to quote guitar amplifier innovator and entrepreneur, Paul Rivera of Rivera Amplification. Even Pete Prown, [then] Editor-in-Chief of Guitar Shop Magazine, said: "I was pleasantly surprised by your high-octane southern rock. I haven't heard that stuff for years, but it still sounds rippin'. I'd give it about 3-1/2 stars [out of 5] for overall sass and kick-ass energy, plus for making me feel good."

Need we say more?!? Okay then ... we were fortunate enough to get airplay on KKEZ 94.5 FM in Fort Dodge, IA, on WCMF 96.5 FM in Rochester, NY and here in Alabama on the Muscle Shoals area's #1 radio station, WVNA 100.3 FM. In fact, following a benefit show we headlined to help raise money for the Ronnie Van Zant Memorial Amphitheater Foundation, WVNA disc jockey and president of said foundation, David Havens, was quoted as saying: "..the band handled every situation with professionalism, dedication to their craft and simply an overall great attitude. We are looking forward to working with BLACK LABEL again, preferably before they deservedly receive the major market success that obviously is looming in the future (i.e., while we can afford 'em)!"

Early 2001 saw the release of our second album, ..the Eclectic Redneck Revolution has begun..., which showcases the band's growth as both a creative unit and as musicians, and captures our many musical sides and moods. We stretched and pushed past the envelope defined by our debut, confusing those quick to pigeonhole us, yet all the while we kept a firm grasp on our vision to write from the heart and let the music do the talking for us. Even before the album's release we have been hard at work on the next batch of incomparable Label tunes, and so due to popular demand we are planning for a 2002 release of new material with live recordings of older material performed by the current line-up. With our energetic sound and creative drive to write outside of the norm ... it's only a matter of time before word of the revolution spreads.
