From the desolate zones of Houston, Texas emerged a black metal band called Adumus. Percussionist Ruben Elizondo, who played in the former bands Imprecation [Repulse Records] and Dark Reign, founded Adumus in May of 1999. Ruben recruited Noe Diaz, guitarist during the formation of Adumus project. Noe was a lead guitarist in recent bands such as Mortify, Retribution, and Crucifixion [Mausoleum Records]. Next to join the group was vocalist, David Ramirez. Soon after Albert Rodriguez, former keyboard player from Imprecation [Repulse Records], joined the band up until his departure in late May 2000 due to personal reasons. Steve Cruz later replaced him as keyboard player in June. Milton Luna, former guitar player for Retribution and Mortify, joined Adumus in the beginning of 2000. He started as a bass player and is now also a guitarist. Thereafter Andy Guerrero, former bass player of Cremator, joined the band replacing Milton on bass. Adumus has performed shows in Texas and Mexico alongside bands like Krisiun [Brazil], Angel Corpse [RIP], Of the Falling [Texas], Kathonik [Texas], Funeral Rites [Texas], Prime Eval [Texas], Condemned [Texas], Infernal Dominion [Texas] and many other well-respected black and death metal bands. Soon Adumus will be performing in other parts of the United States. October of 1999 marked a good beginning for Adumus, with their first recording called Infinite Battles for Immortality. The band has also done interviews with fanzines and some compilations in Europe and United States all having continued successful reviews. In January 2001, Adumus released their second demo entitled Besieging Abominations, which contains five new originals. The band's second release has already sold over 1200 copies and continues to receive great reviews. Stay tuned. The best is yet to come as Adumus heads into the desolate zones of black metal all over the world. |
